Family Fourth Weekend

After seven years and many trips back home to our separate families, we finally scooped up Scott's fam and took them down to Louisiana where my family lives. We spent the Fourth Weekend enjoying TONS of family, great food, and some fun times. It was almost a surreal experience seeing everyone together, seeing Scott's amazing sister sing to my family with her guitar and meet my grandma, AND you know a vacation is good when the first few days back home you're recovering from all the fun!!

After having a blast at my momma's house Thursday and Friday, we took off to Aunt Amy's parent's River Camphouse on the Amite River in Southeast Louisiana. It. Was. So. Much. FUN! We took two boats down the Amite River, through the Diversion Canal and out to Lake Maurepas (Maur-a-paw) to swim in the big lake.

Gorgeous Sunset on the Amite River!

On the boat ride back to the camp house after sunset, Raelyn was sleeping in my lap and we were going against the wind so I had my head down and I enjoyed just hugging on that sweet girl. Unfortunately about 20 minutes into that, we hit a nice hard wave going 50mph plus, and since I wasn't watching and I was holding onto babygirl, my bum hit the hard surface on the boat pretty roughly and I landed straight on my tailbone, fracturing it! I didn't sleep that night, and it was pretty miserable and still is pretty funny to be going through right now, but that did not stop me from having a blast! Maddie and I have even made inside joke songs about it. We went back to my mom's Sunday to spend the rest of the night watching movies, swimming relaxing. I also got to visit my brother Jeff and also go see my dad's grave - which got some new pretty flowers for his birthday month!!

We drove back on Monday... It was so nice getting to spend a long long weekend with the people we love the most, all together too for the first time.

Trip to see Raelyn

Morning, friends! Hope you all had a blast yesterday, and for those that worked - hope you had a fun night! We left directly after work on Tuesday evening to go visit with Scott's sister, Helen, her hubby Jonas, and cute little 6 month old Raelyn.

They live in way Southeast Texas around the Lufkin/Beaumont area, and it took about 4 hours. I love these little road trips because Texas is just gorgeous with all of the lakes, rivers, and trees.

A lot of you asked me to make sure I snap some cute pictures and videos, and I sure did! We took Huxley with us, and he was SO sweet with Raelyn, the only thing we even had to ask him to do is to stop kissin' her so much! hehe I am glad to know he loves babies/kids!

Raelyn is still learning how to crawl right now, but she is just the happiest baby. Always smiling!

Doesn't this picture make your heart melt!? Oh and by the way, the adorable headband pictured on her was made by Mrs. Mallorie Owens - and I've gotten a few headbands from her for Raelyn and my little Annalee (who is the 5 month old of our best friends). They are SO cute, high quality, and comfortable for the girls. You all need to check out her shop right hurr and get some for yourself or other cute babies you know:

Anyway, we spent the fourth just lying around the house, chatting, had some watermelon, made a 5 cheese lasagna, and watched movies - and watched Raelyn and Huxley play :-)

Oh, and did I mention how sweeeeeeeeeet it is to see Scottie with his little niece? He is so cute around babies. Scott's family has called him "bubba" since he was practically born, and he was on cloud 9 since Raelyn's first "word" right now is saying "bubba"... gosh I tried to get it on video but you know how babies are- they only do it when you look away/shut off the cam haha. It was so adorable though!

We drove back to Austin around 5pm, so as we were getting into town we saw fireworks everywhere! One of the many things I love about Scott is that he is SO fun to road trip with, he is always jammin out or singin his own version of something, he is teasing me or makin me laugh, it is just a great time and makes the trip go by super fast.

It was a fun fouth. Happy birthday America!

Happy Fourth!

Who has awesome plans for tomorrow!? This will be the very first 4th of July I haven't had to work since I was 16!!!! Crazy, right?! Well, we are taking full advantage! We initially decided to surprise Scott's sister Helen and her hubby who live about 4 hours east of us by showing up on their doorstep this evening, but while I schemed on how Scott could nonschalantly see if they were going to be working or not - he gave it away. :( Lame-o! Either way, they are super excited we're going and I cannot wait to be with my little niecey, Raelyn!!

I mean... how friggin cute is this little 6 month old princess!?!

She just melts my heart! So we will be leaving soon after work. Of course my tire pressure sensor comes on TODAY on my way to work, so I have to spend my lunch break gettin' some air and probably getting them rotated/balanced.

I am also working on my VERY first crafting project since I was in I think 8th grade in Home Ec?! Haha, it's nothing major. My best friend Ashley and I spent Sunday evening making these cute 4th of July tanks for the holiday - we let them dry yesteday and today we'll be doing the cutting... here is some pics of our progress and pic of what it will look like!

I will be sure to post the end result of these cute shirts!! We practiced cutting on one of the extra T-Shirts, and they really do come out super cute! Fun project!

Don't forget to enter my 100 Follower Group Giveaway that I posted YESTERDAY that ends at the end of the week! So far over 400 entries, and I am blown away!! I have already met so many new friends! :) Thank y'all for the support!

Have a SAFE and fun 4th weekend! Gas prices are dropping for the Holiday (wahoo!!!)
